Committed to our Gaol. —Sarah Barnes, (by the Rev. J. Gee Smyth) charged with having on Wednes- day night the 9th inst. stopped Mr. John Raynham on the King's highway, in the parish of Layham, and stolen from his person 1£. and upwards. Bury and Norwich Post, 23 March 1825. Sarah Barnes, aged 21, was convicted of having on the 9th of March, stopped Mr. John Raynham on the Kings, highway, in the parish of Layham, and feloniously taken from his person 1£. and upwards. ... Bury and Norwich Post, 6 April 1825. On Monday last Sarah Barnes, who was tried and convicted at the last Assizes of a highway robbery at Hadleigh, was removed from our Gaol to the female convict' ship Midas, now lying at Woolwich, bound for Botany Bay.— She is to be transported for life. Bury and Norwich Post, 29 June 1825.

Thomas Grimsey, aged 21, and John Mann, aged 27, were indicted for a highway robbery on the person of John Raynham, of Kersey. Sarah Barnes, one of the persons concerned in this offence, was convicted at the Lent Assizes, and sentenced to be transported for life. Bury and Norwich Post, 3 Aug 1825.
