1837, 18 December: David Owen per KS Forbes and Sarah Barnes per Hector were granted permission to marry (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON52-1-1p062). 1839, 4 December: The couple was married at St Matthews, New Norfolk. David Owen/Owens was “a widower”, aged 30, and an overseer. Sarah Barnes was a widow, aged 28 (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD37-1-1p32j2k). 1843, 24 November: Sarah was granted a Ticket of Leave. 1848, 22 August: She was granted a Conditional Pardon (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON40-1-1$init=CON40-1-1p224). 1855, 12 December: A David Owen, 42 and a farmer, died from concussion of the brain caused by a fall from a horse. His death was registered at New Norfolk. Same David Owen? (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD35-1-26p93j2k).

1835, 6 April: Sarah Barnes was convicted for larceny in a dwelling house (see England & Wales, Criminal Registers, 1791-1892; England, Middlesex, 1835). Note: On her VDL Conduct Record, she says she stole 12 pounds in a dwelling house and the "prosecutrix was my mistress, Major Newton's lady. I lived there for 4 years." She was a widow with one child (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON40-1-1$init=CON40-1-1p224). 1835, 26 April: Listed as an inmate at Newgate prison, Sarah Barnes, 26, born 1809, arrested at Middlesex; tried April 1835, London; sentence - transportation (see London, England, Newgate Calendar of Prisoners, 1785-1853). 1835: ON arrival in VDL, she was 26 and from Gloucester.
