Angus Barr was transported on the Marion, departing 27th Sep 1847 and arriving 9th Jan 1848 with 301 passengers.
Built 1834 at Calcutta. Wood ship of 684 Tons. The 1847/48 voyage sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) BUT also went on to Port Phillip Bay, Victoria where 300 exiles disembarked. (The newspaper source says they were from Millbank, Pentonville & Parkhurst prisons.)

Glasgow Chronicle from 03 January 1844, page 2, reports from Glasgow Circuit Court that Angus Barr was accused of the theft of a cotton velvet cap, found guilty, and sentenced to 14 years transportation. Co-accused WM McIntyre sentenced to 2 years imprisonment
