Daniel BARR was convicted at Londonderry, Ireland on 29 July 1840 for stealing a cow. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'British Sovereign' arriving 17 March 1841. Aged 30yrs; ploughman/farm labourer; married man; Protestant; 5'4 1/4". Native Place: Londonderry 12 mth Probation Period in Colony 1842: stationed at Perth and Launceston (north in the Colony) 21 Sept 1844: Ticket of Leave granted 29 July 1847: Free by servitude 1 Aug 1847: Free Certificate issued
