Family connections for John (Barrett) are: BARRETT John (Barrett) was born about 1793 & became a sawyer & carpenter. He was tried at Cork city Cork co. Ireland in 1817, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 1 4 1818 after a voyage of 4.5months on GUILDFORD; he was Protestant. He, as John Richard), married with permission Mary (Brown age about12? her first (1of3) marriage) in 1821-not shown in Smees records-where they are shown as defacto at births of their children. He had been discharged from Government Establishment at Emu Plains vide Ticket of Exemption from Govt. Labor No 31/131 by 1822 & to reside with his wife. He became a sawyer-top & bottom. He was recorded in 1828 with his family as sawyer for Wm (Ryrie) at Arnprior St Vincents district. John Richard (Barrett) died in 1836 by fall from a windmill.
