Barrs, aged …, found guilty feloniously stealing a of trowsers of January from door Messrs Lock and … pawn brokers. Being old offender, sentenced to transported seven years.  Nottingham Journal, 18 March 1826. Yesterday (Thursday) John Sharpe, John Barrs, Wm Ward, and Benjamin Bail, convicts under sentence of transportation for seven years each, were removed from the Gaol under the care of Mr to be put on board the hulks Woolwich. Sharpe was convicted at the last Sessions, Barrs, Ward, Ball, at the Assizes.   Nottingham Journal, 1 April 1826.
