National Archives. HO 47/6/72 [1787] Certificate/memorial of Henry Gould on several convicts attainted at the Lent Assizes 1787 for whom 'some favourable Circumstances' appeared after their trial, and recommended for mercy on the conditions set against their names: Essex Assizes at Chelmsford, 12 March 1787 Isaac Bartholomew and John Gold, for breaking, entering and stealing goods, value £1:16:6, from the dwelling house of Mary Gardner, widow. Recommendation: 14 years transportation.
