Family connections for John (Barton) are: BARTON John (Barton) arrived in NSW as a convict on 9 7 1791 after a voyage of 6.5months on Fleet ship WILLIAM AND ANN. He married Bridget (Carthy/Carty/McCarthy her first marriage) on 25 7 1792 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. [This John (Barton) does not have an entry on this Website as yet-added by me; where a John (Barton) does have an entry, but seems to be a different person (death & ship)] Bridget (Carthy/Carty/McCarthy) was born about 1773. She was tried for stealing gold watch etc, on 24 5 1790, of Robert (Carless) at Old Bailey on 26 5 1790, sentenced to 7years, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 9 7 1791 after a voyage of 5months on Fleet ship MARY ANNE-same Fleet. She was an emancipist when she married secondly Joseph (Ward his fourth marriage) on 13 5 1810 at St Matthews CofE Windsor. She is recorded in 1814 as wife of Jas (Ward) & in 1820 as Free by Servitude wife of Josh (Ward) at Richmond. She is recorded in 1825 at Lunatic Asylum Parramatta & in 1828 at Lunatic Asylum Liverpool. She died in 1829 age56 mother of 0known children & was buried as insane on 21 6 1829.
