Convict Notes
Robert Bass married Mary Ann Gangell on 24 Aug 1835 in Port Sorell, Tasmania, sometime after he was pardoned. The couple made their way to the Snake Valley, Linton and Carngham area, outside Ballarat. He died in Linton, Victoria, on 21 Jun 1890. One of his sons, James Bass, also a miner, died on 28 July 1916 in Wonthaggi, Victoria, leaving a son Robert James Bass and wife Isabella Cook Bass.
