ARSON— JAMES BASSETT, 15 and JAMES TREWELLA, 17 with having on the March set fire to a workshop at Penzance the property of John James, coach-maker their master ... West Briton and Cornwall Advertiser, 4 Aug 1848. CORNWALL ASSIZES. The  Assizes commenced at Bodmin yesterday morning, before Judges Coleridge and Williams, two lads of this town named Basset and  Trewhella were tried on a charge of having set fire to a work shop in the possession of Mr. John James, on the 25th of March, and with having on the 28th, set fire to a carriage, with intent to burn the shop. They were found guilty, and sentenced to be transported for 15 years. Penzance Gazette, 1 Aug 1848.
