Family connections for Arthur (Batman) are: BATMAN Arthur (Batman) was born about 1780. He was tried at Gloucester Assizes Gloucestershire, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 11 3 1803 after a voyage of 6.5months on HMS GLATTON. He had his Conditional Pardon & was a carpenter when he married Elizabeth (Jones) on 21 5 1827 at St Johns CofE Sydney. [Some details taken from this Website] Elizabeth (Jones) was born about 1789. She was living with her assumed husband William (Dean) at a boarding house when she was tried w/her assumed husband William (Dean) for stealing, on 4 3 1815, a sheet etc of John (Jones) the boarding house owner at probably Old Bailey, sentenced to 7years (William (Dean) was found not guilty), held at London Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 19 1 1816 after a voyage of 6.5months on MARY ANN; she was Protestant. She was a servant to John (Palmer) in 1819-20. She married John (Wigley his second marriage) on 9 10 1820 at St Johns CofE Parramatta & produced perhaps 3children. She would have been Free by Servitude by 1822. She was recorded as wife of John (Wigley his second marriage) in 1823 & 1825. She was recorded in 1828 with her family at Parramatta.
