From the Morning Chronicle 5th March 1845 TICKETS OF LEAVE CANCELLED. The Tickets of Leave of the undermentioned Prisoners of the Crown have been cancelled for the reasons stated opposite their respective names. City Assizes. Sentence of death was recorded against Wm. Batson, for burglary in the house of George Springall, of Eaton ; ... Bury and Norwich Post, 19 Aug 1829. Monday morning last the following convicts were conveyed from the City Gaol on their way to City Gaol on their way to Portsmouth, pursuant to their respective sentences of transportation, viz Wm. Dade, John Townson, Wm. Batson, Robert Bell, Joseph Baxter, and W. Rudd, for life; Steph. Norman, John David Gooch, and John Taylor, for fourteen years.  Norfolk Chronicle, 19 Sep 1829.
