1838, 24 July: He was granted a Ticket of Leave. 1841, 14 October: Conditional Pardon granted. 1847: Free Certificate (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-5$init=CON31-1-5p3).
1832: On arrival in VDL, he was listed as 40 years old, a farm labourer and married with three children. His wife Mary was at High Wycombe. William Batting had a previous conviction for burglary (12 months). He was assigned to Mr D Jameson (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-5$init=CON31-1-5p3).
1831, 18 October: Convicted at Aylesbury for stealing geese. 1831, 15 November: William Batting, 40, was received aboard the Justitia prison hulk at Woolwich. He was sent from there for transportation on 11 February 1832 (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books).
