Convict Notes
The date of birth is unknown. The date shown above is actually the date of his baptism in Holbeach, Lincolnshire. At the Holland Sessions, held in Spalding, Lincolnshire on May 6&7 1824, he was charged with stealing two geese and sentenced to transportation for 7 years. He seems to have had a history of theft as there is also a report of him being sentenced in 1816 to one month imprisonment for stealing a rabbit. (I have not been able to trace him back in England, so presumably he stayed in Australia)
