Richard Beacall and George Wellings, late steward and clerk of Shrewsbury House of Industry, charged with having fraudulently embezzled sums of money, the property of the Directors and Guardians of the Poor. Shrewsbury Chronicle, 12 March 1824.




An order from the Home Secretary’s Office, has been received at our County Gaol, for the removal of 12 convicts to the Hulks at Woolwich ; Beacall and Wellings, the late Steward and Clerk at our House of Industry, were included in the number They will depart this morning.
