1876 - Death. Name; John Beach, Aged; 71 years old. Free by Servitude. General Hospital Hobart. Admission dates: 08 Feb 1876 Ship: Persian. Place of origin: Suffolk Date of death: 12 Feb 1876. Cause of death; Debility and Vesical Disease, acute Pyelitis, Resource: HSD145/1/1 Feb-Mar 1876

John Beach was transported for stealing metal. He was married, 28 years old, wife Susan Beach and 2 children at Birmingham, slight hesitation in speech, blind in right eye, dark hazel eyes, black hair, 5'4" tall. 1830: Assigned to Mr Baynton. 1832-33: Public Works. 1834: Colonial Convicttion - Launceston QS 14/3/1834. 1835: Transported to Port Arthur. 5/12/1831: Baynton - Found at Glenorchy without a passport. 13/8/1832: Drunk and having been so repeatedly when in charge of his masters stock - 25 lashes. 9/3/1833: Neglect of work - reprimanded. 28/3/1833: PW/ disobeying orders and improper conduct in removing a quantity of chips from the lumbar yard - 1 month imprisonment with Hard Labour. 18/1/1838: Carter/disobedient conduct in forcing his way into the cookhouse and threatening to throw a stone at the watchman - 25 lashes. etc., the next ones are hard to read. 6/1/1842: TOL 1844: COF. There is a date of death in Hobart in 1876, but the birth date for this is out a few years. May be him.
