Settled in Keilor, Vic with his defacto Mary Ann Brown circa or prior to 1841. Shown in NSW Returns of Colony & Port Phillip Directory for 1847. Land purchase at Waringal (Heidelberg) recorded in Govt Gazette 1847 - 1851. Died in Melbourne Hospital from peritonitis resulting from being kicked in the groin by Richard Griffiths (Charged with & acquitted of manslaughter). Buried Melbourne General Cemetery, Carlton - Ref: Married Mar Ann at Independent Church, Collins St, Melbourne on 26 August, 1856. Children: Margaret b Hobart 04/05/1837, Jane Dinah b Hobart 1839, Mary b Melbourne 1841, David William b Melbourne 1844, Alfred Adam b Melbourne 1845, Martha b 1848, David John b Keilor 1851
