In May 1844, Jane Beatson and Agnes Paterson were found guilty of theft (no details) at the High Court of Justiciary. Jane Beatson received transportation for 7 years and Agnes Paterson received one year imprisonment - see Scotsman newspaper 29 May 1844 p 3 on 'High Court of Justiciary'.
