George Beaumont was my great great grandfather. Born in Downton, Wiltshire. United Kingdom in 1817. He left the U.K. onboard the Dudbrook arriving in Western Australia in 1853, leaving behind 3 children . Their mother Harriet died in 1849, so George was a widower!

George Beaumont was my great great grandfather, so very interested to find out what happened to him after being released from Freemantle prison?

charged with receiving 4 stolen sheep , sheep theft offence occurred at Southhampton on 24 Dec 1850 , he was actually caught in the Kings Arms public house in Southhampton where the skins still fresh were found in the stable and being in company of the actual crooks, these gents were let off because of good character ,George not so lucky he being on a previous charge as well.
