William Beavan was transported for ‘Theft of a large quantity of cider from his master Mr Thomas Horton. He was tried at Worcestershire on 7/4/1834, and his occupation was a Indoor servant/Groom. William was born at Dilwyn, Herefordshire, England and was the son of Walter Beavan and Hannah Powell. William was literate, C of E, dusky complexion, brown hair grey eyes, 5’8” tall. WILLIAM was assigned to Aaron Waters in the district of Windsor. WILLIAM acquired land at St. Albans and Brush Creek, Yarramalong. 1839: TOL 30/12/1841: COF 17/5/1841: Married Isabella Hannah at St Albans and they had 11 children. William had 40 acres, 2 horses and 14 cattle at Wyee Point, Cooranbong according to a 1885 survey of landholders. Yarramalong Beaven, George 40 Acres 2 Horses 15 Cattle Yarramalong Beaver, Joseph ½ Acre 1 Horse 15 Cattle 6 Pigs Wyong Creek Beaver, Thomas 40 Acres 6 Horses Brother George arrived in NSW aboard the ship Fairlie in August 1848: Bevan, George, 33, agricultural labourer, a native of Dilwen [probably Dilwyn], Herefordshire, son of Walter and Hannah, both dead, Church of England, could read and write, a brother William Bevan already in NSW living at the Macdonald River area, Windsor Bevan, Elizabeth, 28, dressmaker, native place Pembridge, Herefordshire, daughter of Walter and Eliza Weaver, father dead, mother living at Pembridge, Church of England, could read, no relatives in the colony Bevan, William, 10, native of Stans Herefordshire Bevan, Eliza, 5, native of Pembridge Herefordshire 29/4/1887: William died at Brush Creek, Yarramalong.
