George Beavis was 26 years old on arrival in VDL and was transported for ‘Setting fire to a wheat (looks like) stack/sheaf’. George was born in Halstead, Suffolk, he was 5’3 ¼” tall, sallow complexion, dark brown hair, dark whiskers, hazel eyes, single, illiterate. Station of Gang: Norfolk Island. May 1847: arrived in VDL per ‘Pestongee Bomangee. 30/8/1853: TOL 19/12/1854: Recommended for a CP 13/11/1855: CP 5/4/1894: Died of senile debility, aged 75 – trade a shoemaker – at Hobart. No marriage or children found.
