The death date of 1828 in Parramatta is incorrect. This has been confused with Samuel Beckett born Toongabbie 1795 to James Beckett (Surprize 1789) and Ann Calcut /Cocutt (Neptune 1789) who DID die 1828 in Seven Hills registered Parramatta. The convict Samuel Beckett was living in Newcastle in 1828 with wife Barbara.

He had a relationship with Barbara (Styles) emancipist & received permission to marry her on 20 6 1826 which he did on 25 7 1826 at Christ Church Newcastle. He is recorded in 1828 as sawyer with his wife at Newcastle. Permission to Marry granted 20th June 1826,SAMUEL BECKETT age 31 years married 1826 (3827 Vol.3) Christ Church CofE, Newcastle NSW BARBARA STYLES age 41, by Rev. G A Middleton. Barbara came free on the "Mary Ann" in 1816, the daughter of Alexander and Mary McDonald. No Issue of the marriage. Samuel Beckett died 1828 E/n 8115 Vol.2, aged 34 yrs, Buried St John's Cof E Cemetery, Parramatta.
