Wm. Beckington, for burglariously breaking into the shop of John Fox, at Melksham, and stealing 2 pieces of cotton, 2 pieces of kerseymere, and other articles. Salisbury Journal, 8 Mar 1819 The following prisoners, 17 in number, were fully convicted of the crimes for which they stood indicted, and received sentence of Death :- …Wm. Beckingham, for a burglary in the shop of John Fox, at Melksham. … All the above prisoners have been reprieved, except the two first-named, James Rawlings and James Batton, Salisbury Journal, 15 Mar 1819
