He was tried for highway robbery w/1other at Warwick Assizes on 27 9 1809, sentenced to death commuted to Life, held on hulk at Portsmouth & arrived in NSW on 29 9 1811 after a voyage of 5 months on ADMIRAL GAMBIER. He was Free by Servitude when he married Sarah (Shean/Watson) on 26 2 1823 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. [Some details taken from this Website] Sarah (Watson) was born about 1781. At Warwick assizes, which closed on Friday, the following prisoners received sentence of death:— Patrick Wickham, aged 21, for highway robbery and shooting, near Warwick; William Beet, 21, and Wm. Smith, for a highway robbery; Edward Priest, 26, for a burglary in the house of Guy Knowles, in this town; James Price, 15, for forgery, in this town; John Roberts, 18, Benjamin Ball, 17, for robbing a dwelling house at Tamworth; Wm. Buttons, alias Wm. Johnson, alias Wm. Yarmouth, 23, for returning from transportation; Mary Wolley, 53, and Ann Smallbrook, 43, for stealing yards printed cotton the property of John Wynn, of this town; and Susannah Grant, 64, for having in her possession, in this town, an edger for marking money.—Patrick Wickham and Susannah Grant are left for execution; all the others his lordship reprieved before he left the town.
