1832: On arrival in VDL, he was listed as 25, a labourer and tailor, and single. He was assigned to Mr Fitzgerald in Elizabeth Street, Hobart (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON18-1-10$init=CON18-1-10p8). According to an ad in the Hobart Times in March 1833, Mr Fitzgerald was a "Fashionable Tailor and Habit Maker" whose recently imported stocks included "a choice selection of fashionable cloths, of all colors, of very superior quality", to which he "earnestly" invited his clients' early attention. Gentlemen who furnished "their own materials... [could] have their garments made in the best style, and at a moderate rate of charge, upon the shortest notice". His shop was in Elizabeth-street, opposite the Stowel Arms. 1840, 20 January: Moses was granted a Ticket of Leave. 1842, 18 November: His Conditional Pardon was approved (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-5$init=CON31-1-5p6).
1831, 24 October: Convicted at Salford for receiving silver plate. 1831, 1 December: Received aboard the prison hulk Justitia at Woolwich. Listed as 20 years old. Sent for transportation on 11 February 1832 (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849).
