Dublin Evening Post Dublin, Republic of Ireland 14 Aug 1824: Patrick Bennett, Thomas Bennett, James Bennett, and Pat. Neal, were put to the Bar, for the murder of Gorman, but at the Prisoners would not join in their challenges, Patrick Bennett was tried first—for, on the 28th December, 1822, at Doohill, murdering Michael Gorman the younger; and, under a second indictment, for assaulting the house of Michael Gorman the elder. **Patrick Bennett was with a party of about 12 and they were going to raze the house of Gorman and took ropes to pull it down...** The Jury retired for about 15 minutes, and returned with a verdict of ___Guilty. His Lordship after addressing the Prisoner in a most impressive manner, sentenced him to death on Monday__and his body to be given for dissection. No ships found for Thomas and James Bennett or Patrick Neal. Medical Journal of the Hooghley: Folio 18: Patrick Bennett, aged 40, Prisoner; disease or hurt, dysentery. Put on sick list, 9 March 1825. Discharged, 16 March 1825. 29/9/1831: Newcastle: Labourer from Limerick. Admitted to Newcastle gaol from Patterson Plains under sentence of 1 month in solitary confinement for insolence and imposing on the court. Discharged with a pass to return to his master on 27 October. 1837: Assigned to John Eales, Maitland 30/5/1838: TOL Maitland. 13/7/1844: TOL Cancelled for being absent from District.
