Applied for permission to marry on 27/04/1853. Married Mary Long 30/05/1853 at Catholic church of St Joseph in Hobartown. Became a widower on 05/12/1858 in Victoria, where he had lived for 2 years. He had 2 daughters to this marriage, Mary Ann born in 1853 and Catherine, born in 1856, Hobartown.
Tom married twice. After 5 years in Hobart Town he relocated to Melbourne (Flemington). Worked in the livestock/meat trade.
