On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. Convict Notes
Nottingham Assizes. John Benson, aged 21, Mary Langham, aged 20, and Elizabeth Monks, aged 20, stealing handkerchief, shilling, and sixpence, from the person of John Clarke.— All were found guilty Judgment of Death recorded. Nottingham Review, 16 March 1832. On Wednesday week, the following prisoners convicted at the Lent Assizes, and against whom sentence of death was recorded, were removed from the town jail, under the care of Mr. Vason, for transportation : —John Benson, aged 21, for robbing John Clarke the highway ; Samuel Lonsdale, aged 21, for breaking into the dwelling-house of Mr. Wm. Cooper; Joseph Healey, aged 21, for stealing a mare, the property of Messrs. Thomas and William Lake James Henry Fuller, aged 23, for robbing his master, Mr. William March Garland. The above are all for fourteen years transportation. Nottingham Review, 18 May 1832.
