Convict Notes
Tried and convicted, at Queens, for having coining implements in his possession. Brother James also charged and convicted of same offence and travelled on the 'Cadet'. Prev. convictions for stealing cattle and throwing a man into a bog. Gaol Report: well conducted in prison. Surgeons Report: Very good. Single man. Aged 35yrs; ploughman/farmer; 5'6"; ruddy complexion; black hair; Hazel eyes; reads & writes; Roman Catholic. Native Place: Queens County. Station Gang: Browns River. Emerged from Gang 24/08/184.. 28/08/1848: Misconduct in taking indecent liberties with Master's daughter (under age). 6mths imprisonment and hard labour in chains. To be sent to Launceston and not allowed to live out of that district. 17/12/1849: Sutherland, Campbell Town. Misconduct in making away with milk, from his Master's. 3 mths imprisonment, hard labour. 31/01/1850 Died in hospital at Ross. Surgeon's memo of 04/02/1850.
