William Bergin was convicted at Queens, Ireland on 8 Mar 1852. Life sentence. Transported to Van Diemens Land (Tasmania) on the ‘Rodney’, arriving 12.02.1853.

Single man; blacksmith; aged 20yrs; not literate; sallow complexion; brown hair; Hazel eyes; 5’4”.
Native Place: Co. Queens.

6yrs Probation. To be placed in separate treatment place.

Ticket of Leave 31 Jan 1860

Ticket of Leave revoked 26/03/1861. Restored 21/01/1862. Revoked 23/09/1862. Restored 23/02/1864.

Conditional Pardon 13/12/1864.
