1844: TOL Liverpool 23/10/1847 Sydney Chronicle: Thomas Beresford, Parkfield, 1839, absent from district, Liverpool bench; 1847: TOL Sydney 7/4/1848: TOL Passport – On the application of W. Sharp. 21/3/1849: Married Ann Brennan at St James church Sydney. They had the following children: William Henry born 22/3/1850 Sydney, Sarah Amelia, Annie born c1853, Fanny Amelia born c1855, Thomas born c1857, Henrietta born c1859, George born 30/9/1860 Leichardt, Matthew born 17/6/1862 Bullock Creek, Mary Jane born 20/10/1864 Leichardt, Elizabeth born 5/12/1867 Bullock Creek, Lavina born 1870 Marong, Emily born 6/2/1873 Marong. Ann Brennan was born c1832 at Tirnahely nr Dublin Ireland, she died 13/4/1874 aged 42 years, and was buried at the Marong cemetery. 1865: Elected to the Marong Shire Council. 1875: Granted 160 acres of land in the Parish of Marong. 1/2/1907 Sydney Morning Herald: MOULAMEIN, Thursday. Mr. Thomas Beresford aged 83, of Pike, near Moulamein, died to-day from senile decay. He resided over 65 years in the colonies, and leaves a large family. 2/2/1907 Bendigo Independent: OBITUARY. Mr. Thomas Beresford, one of the earliest settlers in Bendigo, died at Moulamein (NSW) on Thursday from old age. Early in the "fiffties" he came to Bendigo and spent a few years mining. Then he purchased land at Marong, where he reared a large family — six daughters and four sons, of whom all are living with tho exception of one daughter. Sergeant Beresford, of Maryborough is a son. The deceased's great-grandchildren number eight, and there are over 50 grandchildren. Mr. W. Wright, of the Evening Mail, being one. When in Bendigo Mr. Beresford was associated with various of the leading mining men. He was one of a party who once owned the site where the Shamrock Hotel is built, and which was sold for £20; and was the first chairman of the Old Marong Road Board (now the Shire of Marong). In the seventies he removed to Moulamein. He was 85 years old.

Believed to have been born in Snelston, Derbyshire, England. Married Irish Protestant orphan - Ann Brennan Lived in Sydney, Marong near Bendigo, and Moulamein.
