James Berry, and Robert Shears, for burglary in the dwelling-house Richard Lee, at, Sherston Magna Salisbury Journal, 26 July 1830. Committed, to the Old Bridewell, Devizes.- Thomas Berry, charged with breaking into the house of Richard Lee at and stealing cheese and other articles on the 18th of May.—[Berry was tried (but acquitted) at the last Marlborough Sessions of stealing bread at Sherston. Since then, circumstances have arisen to excite a suspicion that he was connected. Devizes and Wiltshire Gazette, 18 Nov 1830 The following convicts, who were convicted the last assizes, were removed from our County Gaol Fisherton, and put on board the York Hulk, at Gosport, pursuant to their respective sentences: (viz.) Thomas Day, John Marsh, John Bell, Thomas Berry, Thomas Lucas, and William Sidwell, for housebreaking—transportation for life: John Bridgeman, for housebreaking—seven years: Thomas Marshall and George Tyler, stealing above the value of 5/. in the dwelling-house—transported for life: George Whale, for sheep-stealing - fourteen years; Robert Heath, for horse-stealing—fourteen years.
