HO 17/58/102. 1 collective petition (16 inhabitants of Notgrove, Gloucester) on behalf of Thomas Berry and John Berry, labourers convicted at Gloucester Quarter Sessions in October 1829 of stealing 17 fowls, property of John Hanks. There is also a letter from Wilkins and Kendall, solicitors for the prosecution, transferring the petition. Grounds for clemency: honest, sober and industrious labourers until this their first offence. Initial sentence: 7 years' transportation. Gaoler's report: character connexions bad. Annotated: nil. KO2 Date: 1829 Nov 10.
