William Berryman was caught for a break-in at a carpenter's workshop. He was with Sykes, who had worked there previously. They had taken a large quantity of nails, glue and tools and were caught in possession of the stolen items Berryman almost persuaded the judge that he had previously been in the Navy. So there was a recommendation for a conditional pardon (for him to enlist). This failed when a previous employer was found.
