Family connections for Elizabeth (Biggs) are: BIGGS CCONVICTdone Elizabeth (Biggs) was born about 1770. She was tried at probably Old Bailey, sentenced to 7years, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 17 10 1794 after a journey of 8.5months on Fleet ship SURPRISE. She married George Augustus (Pitt) soldier on 9 10 1796 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. Perhaps she returned to UK with her family in May 1810. [Some details taken from this Website] George Augustus (Pitt/Pitst) was born about 1755 in Caithness Scotland. He enlisted in NSW Corps as a private at Savoy on 17 7 1792. He arrived in NSW as a soldier on 17 10 1794 (maybe disembarked on 28 10 1794) after a journey of 8.5months on Fleet ship SURPRISEalso; he was 5.56'. He became Corporal in 1797. He was detached to (Grose)s company in 1798 & to (Prentice)s company in 1800. He became Sergeant in 25 3 1800 & Paymaster Sergeant on 25 11 1800. In 1801 he was detached back to Grose)s company & became a private on 9 6 1801. On 25 3 1803 he became Paynaster Sergeant again. In 1804 he was granted 45rods of land in Sydney. In 1808 he was detached to (Abott)s company & in 1809 to no1company. He leased 45rods in 1809. He returned to UK, perhaps with his family, in May 1810. Elizabeth (Biggs) & George Augustus/Angus (Pitt) produced 3children: 1.Joseph William (Pitt) was born on 24 1 1797 & baptised on 12 1 1806 age9- w/Mary at St Phillips CofE Sydney. Perhaps he returned to UK with his parents in May 1810. 2.Mary (Pitt) was born on 31 1 1799 & baptised on 12 1 1806 age7 w/Joseph William at St Phillips CofE Sydney. Perhaps she returned to UK with her parents in May 1810. 3.John (Pitt) was born on 25 2 1801 & baptised on 9 4 1801 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. He died on 24 3 1802 age13!m.
