26/9/1826 Sussex Advertiser East Sussex, England: John Billings, charged with stealing a great coat, and other articles, the property Samuel Unsted. John Billings was 27 years old when transported. 1828 Census: Labourer assigned to Alexander Warren, Jarviston, Hunter River. 1831: Ticket of Leave - Paterson Plains 9/11/1833: Certificate of Freedom 13/1/1841: Free. Admitted to Newcastle gaol from Scone district. Sentenced to 6 months in prison for drunkenness. No marriage found. Possible death: 1873 at Bathurst, NSW - There was another John Billings who arrived in 1840 so cannot be sure.
