William Bingley was 18 years old when indicted for stealing 3 £5 bank notes from William Dolan, a drover who had hired William Bingley on the road to assist him to drive his cattle. William stole the money as Dolan slept. Colonial Secretary: 30/10/1819: On list of convicts forwarded to Emu Plains for distribution. Listed as Bringley. 17/7/1820: Government labourer at Emu Plains. 22/10/1823: On list of convicts attached to the Government Extablishment at Rooty Hill. 19/5/1825: On monthly statement of changes in the convict's at Rooty Hill Station, assigned to Patrick Campbell Jnr. 22/4/1839: Absconded from John Foster, Bathurst, since April 13th. Described as: Bingley, William, Grenada (1), 30 or 39, London, servant, 5'1" and upwards, fair ruddy complexion, light sandy hair, grey eyes. 1843: TOL Bathurst 29/8/1849: CP 1853: Death of "a" William Bingley, (no district) aged 54.(which would co-incide with his trial age.
