Hobart Town Gazette, 4 Mar 1825 Absconded prisoners Josiah Bird, 274, 5 ft. 5¾ in. dark complexion, black hair, dark brown eyes, 39 years of age, a farmers' labourer, tried at Cambridge Oct. 1818, sentence 7 years, arrived in this Colony per Coromandel 1820, native at Cambridgeshire, little finger on the left hand crippled and scarred, absconded from the Prisoners' Barracks Feb. 23, 1825.—£2 Reward.
