12/1/1850 Salisbury and Winchester Journal Wiltshire, England: Silas Bird, years for stealing 1 cwt. of lead. Silas Bird was 24 years old on arrival in WA. He was married, no children, 5'4½" tall, black hair, light blue eyes, darkish complexion, middling stout, scar on right cheek, pockmarked. Occupation: Smith's labourer. Silas was convicted on 1/1/1850 and so had spent 4 years in gaol before transportation. 5/4/1854: TOL 10/3/1855: CP No marriage or children found. 15/11/1885: WA BDM Silas Bird died aged 53 - registered Perth.
