Mary Harriet (she was known as Harriet) Birdsill was 18 years old when transported for stealing a shawl and a blanket, the goods of Louisa Sims and another. 1841: TOL Port Macquarie 19/8/1843: COF 25/11/1842: Married Thomas Smith (Bengal Merchant 1834) at St Thomas CE Port Macquarie. Mary/Harriet had been a midwife in the Austral Eden area. 1868: Selected land in her own right as a widow at Argent Hills. 16/10/1894: Mary/Harriet died at Kempsey and was buried at Blackbutt Cemetery.
