Star (London) London, England 18 Mar 1819: LAW INTELLIGENCE Joseph Knipe, Thomas Smart, John Ward, and Benjamin Birmingham, were indicted for burglariously breaking and entering the dwelling-house of John Springate, in the night time, between the 27th and 28th October last, in the parish of Linton, and stealing therefrom twenty-two pieces of Irish linen, a large quantity of tea and tobacco, worth in the whole about £160. The case went to the Jury under the Learned Judge's directions, and they found all the prisoners Guilty___Death. Joseph Knipe on board. Thomas Smart on board. John Ward on board. Benjamin Birmingham was listed as 35 years old on arrival. Native Place: Lymington. Benjamin was 5'5¾" tall, fair pale complexion, brown hair, dark eyes. 29/12/1827: TOL - Sydney - pale ruddy complexion, brown to grey hair, grey eyes, lame of right leg.
