The following prisoners were placed at the bar: HENRY HARDING, 19. JOHN TAYLOR, 26, and WILLIAM BISHOP, 22, charged with having, on the 21st of June inst., the parish of Bisham,  violently assaulted and j ravished Patience Martin, against her will. The evidence in this case was of too disgusting a nature for publication. The result the trial had not transpired when our Reporter left. Reading Mercury, 18 July 1840.  Henry Harding was found guilty principal, and John Taylor and William Bishop as assisting, in the commission of a rape on the person of Patience Martin, dress-maker, at Marlow, as she was returning home from Cookham  Dean, a common about two miles from Marlow, the evening of the 21st of June (Smith, one of the ruffians engaged  in the villainous assault has hitherto escaped.) The crime was committed under circumstances of great brutality, ... Bristol Times, 1 Aug 1840.
