George Blaxland ROGERS was convicted at the CCC, London 20 Aug 1838 for uttering forged notes. Previously charged for embezzlement but acquited. 15 yr transportation sentence. Hulk Report: "Good". Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania), Australia per the ship 'Gilmore' arriving 22 Jan 1839. Ship surgeon's report: "very well behaved, quiet and steady, hospital constable". Married man, wife Elizabeth in London; 4 children. Solicitor and Attorney at Law. Aged 38 yrs; 5'4 3/4"; fresh complexion; lt brown hair, balding; Hazel eyes.
