Horse Stealing —Thomas Blinkhorne, 30, of Chatteris, was apprehended by p. c. Thomas Stearn, at March fair, for stealing from the farmyard of Wm. Cheney of Lutton, on Friday night, or early on Saturday morning last, a black nag horse. He underwent an examination before magistrates Wednesday, and on Thursday following was conveyed to Thiapaton, in Northamptonshire, and taken before Mr. Yorke, the magistrate, by whom he was committed for trial. It appears Mr. Cheney's son went to Chatteris in search of the horse, and met Blinkhorne who is his brother-in-law, and who accompanied him to Cambridge, on Sunday, in search of the horse, (well knowing that he had left the horse at the True Blue, in this town,) when opposite the True Blue, he told Cheney to walk on, he knew an old man who would give him some information; he went into the stable and cut off the horse's tail; when he came out again, told Cheney the old man was not at home; they then returned to Chatteris.
