Built 1834 at Calcutta. Wood ship of 684 Tons. The 1847/48 voyage sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) BUT also went on to Port Phillip Bay, Victoria where 300 exiles disembarked. (The newspaper source says they were from Millbank, Pentonville & Parkhurst prisons.)

Hereford Journal Herefordshire, England 19 Mar 1845: COUNTY SESSIONS James Blount was charged with stealing one pit saw, of the value of twenty-three shillings, and other articles, the property of Edmund Maddox, at Norton Canon, on the 23rd Dec. last.__Guilty. Sentence: after a previous conviction for felony, ten years' transportation. James Blount was listed as 29 years old on arrival. Place of Birth: near Bromyard. James was 5'5½" tall, ruddy complexion, dark brown hair and whiskers, brown eyes, stout made, scar on outside of right arm, small scar under lower lip right side, small scar near right whisker and scars on back of right hand. Father: Richard Mother: Elizabeth Brothers: Edward, William, John, Richard. Station of Gang: Salt Water River. 1851: Sent to hospital. 23/9/1851: Sent to Lunatic Asylum at Launceston. 3/3/1852: Sent to Port Arthur. 4/10/1852: Returned to Salt Water River. Was admitted to the Salt Water Asylum on 4/10/1852 - described as an Imbecile and helpless, had fits, and destroyed his clothes. 21/3/1853: James Blount died at Salt Water River, Tas.
