In the colony, William appears in the 1828 Census: Page 53... [Ref B1468] Blyton, William, 25, GS, Mangles, Life, Protestant, Stockman at Mrs Jenkins, Bombaloon, Airds. On August 15th 1831, William married Eliza Jane Smith at Campbelltown. Eliza had been born in the colony, the daughter of Jeremiah Smith (Third Fleet Convict, 1791, "William and Ann") and Sophia Ackers (bc). Sophia herself was the daughter of Thomas Ackers (First Fleet Convict, 1788, "Charlotte") and Ann Hinchley (Third Fleet Convict, 1791, "Mary Ann"). The couple had 10 children between 1832 and 1855.




Stamford Mercury Fri 6 Aug 1819 p.3.... NOTTINGHAM ASSIZES. In the County Gaol: Thomas Redfern, aged 18 and William Blyton, aged 15, charged with having, on the 18th of March, in the night-time, broken and entered the dwelling-house of Thos. Parkin, at Mansfield, and stolen 1/8s. of money, several bottles of spirits and wine, and other articles. - condemned, but reprieved.
