Convict Notes
26/7/1845 Drogheda Argus and Leinster Journal Louth, Republic of Ireland: Charles Bogg, a boy aged about 20 years, was indicted for stealing £92, the property of Mr. Richard Reilly, of Kalla, in whose service he was. The theft was committed on the 24th of November, 1843. Mr. Reilly, an elderly gentleman, deposed that he had the money in notes and gold, in a small guardevine, which was locked and placed in a larger box, which was also locked, and stood in his bed room. The trial continued.....Constable o'Flaherty, of Bailieborough station, deposed that he arrested the plrisoner near Bailieborough, on the 14th March, in the house of a man named Tully, with whom he was at service; the prisoner when arrested gave his name as Charles Fullam. (A woman in Court said his mother's name was Fullam.) Charles Bogg was listed as being 17??years old on arrival in VDL - he was 5'5" tall, fair complelxion, brown hair, no whiskers, dark brown eyes, native place: County Meath, freckled, 2 small scars on back of right hand, small scar on left temple. Charles was also listed as married with 1 child, wife Margaret in county cavan; Father: Charles Mother: Mary Brother: John in the 11th regiment Sisters: Catherine, Bridget, Julia. 11/3/1851: TOL 15/1/1853: Free Certificate.
