1852, 20 July: William BOLTON per “Waterwitch” received a Conditional Pardon, No 1003 (see Tasmania, Australia, Convict Court and Selected Records, 1800-1899; Pardons, Leave, Discharge; Registers of conditional pardons issued, 1850-1853).


1839, 19 October: William BOLTON, a Private in the 35th Regiment, is on a list of prisoners sentenced to transportation per “Water Witch” from Port Louis, Mauritius, to Van Diemen’s Land. He is described as: single, aged 25, a potter; sentenced to life by a General Court Martial on 13 and 14 September, 1839, for striking a superior officer; fair complexion, grey eyes and light brown hair; 6’2”; native place Stoke, Staffordshire; can read (see New South Wales, Australia Convict Ship Muster Rolls and Related Records, 1790-1849; 1840 Layton).
