Family connections for Charles (Booth) are: BOOTH Charles (Booth) son of Jonathan (Booth) & Elizabeth (Low) was born in 1783/4 at North Wheatley Nottingham. He married firstly Rebecca (Bli/ythman) on 25 11 1812 at Sutton cum Lound Nottinghamshire. He was found in possession of a forged note of Bank of England with 17others, tried at York Assizes, sentenced to 14yrs & arrived in NSW as a convict on 22 11 1817 after a voyage of 4months on LARKINS without his family. He became in charge of convicts & a farmer; one of the first in Bathurst & Wellington. He was issued his Ticket of Leave in 1828, was given a land grant in the Millthorpe area which he helped found-at 'Grove Farm'. He was issued his Conditional Freedom on 28 4 1831. He married secondly Mary Ann (Griffin) on 31 3 1834 at RC Bathurst. Two of his children travelled to Australia from England later. Charles Booth was born in North Wheatley Nottingham. He married Rebecca Blythman and had three children. In 1817, he was arrested with 17 others when a forged note was found in a local pub, perhaps the Sun Inn. He was transported to Sydney, where his farming skills were greatly needed. He was one of the first white people to settle land around Bathurst and Wellington NSW and is mentioned in local histories. After obtaining his ticket of leave in 1828, he settled at Millthorpe and is credited with being it's founder. He named his farm Grove Farm after Grove in Nottingham. Two of his children joined him in Australia years later. The other stayed in UK.
