Place of origin: Manchester, Lancashire Aged; 30 years old on arrival 1868 - 13 Feb. Tasmania Crime Reports; Ephraim Booth. F,S, Supreme Court Launceston. Offence; Rape. Sentence; To be Executed. Commuted to Penal Servitude for Life with out ? The Tasmanian Times (Hobart Town, Tas. : 1867 - 1870) Wed 19 Feb 1868 Page 2 SATURDAY, 15TH FEBRUARY. RAPE, Ephraim Booth, convicted on his own confession of committing a rape on a little girl named Ellen aged 8 years old. He, was also sentenced to death, his Honor telling him to prepare for the worst. The Court then rose.
